I Don’t Have the Time!

How many times during the day do you find yourself saying, “I don’t have the time,” to exercise?  It’s all to easy for us to come with excuses, increase our to do list etc etc.  However, one of the best ways to get our exercise in, is to put on our walking shoes and go for a walk.

Do you come home from work, catch up with the children, prepare and cook dinner, get homework done, hurry the children off for a bath, read a goodnight story and finally find yourself sinking into the couch at 9pm, if you are lucky?  Still have work to do yourself?  Well, instead of reaching for that snack, drink and remote control, why not go for a walk instead?  Arrange to meet a friend and walk for 30 minutes.  You will feel better and before you know it, it will become part of your daily routine.

If this is too late for you, then why not try some of these alternatives:

1.  Take the bus to work – get off a stop earlier (or two or three) and walk the rest of the way.

2.  Park away from the office and make time to walk to work.

3.  If you drive the children to school, park away from the school gates and walk.

4.  Instead of meeting a friend for coffee, meet to get some exercise in.

5.  Little one ready for some outdoors fun, pop them in the buggy and walk (this was one of my favourites when my little ones were still in their buggies).

These are only a few suggestions, there are lots of different ways we can incorporate every day fitness into lives.  Just as scheduling an appointment the dentist is important, so is making the time for you to get your daily exercise.  Indeed Beachbody has some amazing programme which you can use to work out at home and what’s more, your coach is there for you too.  Interested in one of their programmes?  Take a look here:
